FAQ: The Rumpl Puffe-, A Portable Battery-Powered Heated Blanket

Q. Where do we source our down?

Our down is 100% fair trade certified and obtained as a harm-free by-product of the food industry. Both our down supplier and our factory are audited yearly by the IDFL (International Down and Feather Testing Laboratory) receiving the DOWNPASS certification. It is the same idea as Patagonia, but of course, it’s a different supply chain from theirs.

Q. How do we pledge for more than one blanket/battery?

If you’d like to pledge more than one blanket, please just pledge that amount and remember to include the shipping for each blanket. If you send us a direct message with the blankets you ordered and the quantity of each, I will make a note of it so nothing slips through the cracks! Example: If you live in Canada and you want to order one Early Bird Synthetic and one Early Bird Down, please pledge 199 + 70 + 299 + 70 = 638.

Q. I have another 12V battery pack/power bank - can I use it to power the Puffe-?

Yes and no. The blanket requires a 12V power source, and a 12V battery pack would provide enough power, but you’d need the correct adapter to accommodate the barrel size of the Puffe-. The Puffe-‘s plug has a 6mm diameter with a 1.5mm pin, so as long as that fits into your battery pack, you’re good to go! If the power bank has an A/C outlet, then no need to worry about barrel size because the Rumpl’s A/C adapter will work!

Q. Will there be stretch goals?

At the moment, there are no plans to create any stretch goals.

Q. Why is the shipping so high for the UK/Canada?

We met with our Accountants to find the cheapest possible shipping solution. The shipping cost covers everything so that you won’t have to pay any duties or VAT upon delivery! We wanted to be as transparent as possible from the start.

Q. Why is the heat only in the middle of the blanket?

The heating element is placed in the middle to get you as much heat as possible with a portable battery pack. At this point with the technology, you would need a car battery to charge your blanket if the entire blanket had heating elements embedded in it. We think you will love the design!

Q. What are the loops for?

Q. Do you include a UK adapter?

That isn’t a part of our plan at the moment, but it’s just a generic adapter that you should easily be able to find an adapter for.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
